so that's life hu?
I guess what I experience almost everyday isn't a true paradigm shift, but more a change of perspective... I probably have a paradigm shift once a month... ha ha
I recently spent a few days visiting someone in a rehab hospital. This particular hospital deals solely with amputees. Everyone in this hospital is missing either one leg or arm, or all limbs, or two legs and one arm... you get the point.
What was interesting is how these people got like that. Some people are just born without a limb, some had lost limbs to diabetes, some to poor circulation due to smoking (very scary), and some who have been in accidents lots as pedestrians. It changes the way you look at things when you are surrounded by people missing appendages. Now when I drive down the street and some jackass walks out in front of me or another car in the city I see someone with missing legs and without the ability to have children.
There must be something about life that we or at least I am missing when on our death bed we choose life no matter what the circumstances. How many people do you know who have truly faced death and wanted to die? It seems that there is a reality that is revealed when facing death that shows us what a seriously special gift life is. Maybe one of the greatest deceptions the devil ever pulled off is down playing how sacred life is?
