telstra

We moved! Moving is always fun. Getting the phone connected and the internet up is even more fun. There is a company here called Telstra. They are the most incompetent phone company EVER and they own most of the phone cable that is laid so you are stuck dealing with them even if you decide not to use them as your server you have to pay them a line usage fee. Any who... a few weeks later we are finally online and have a phone. Our numbers are all the same; just our home address is different. So feel free to call anytime :)

To make a long story short, our house mate Chris bought a house on Geelong Rd. We rented the house next to it. It's so close that we even share the dividing wall... (He can run but he can't hide). The Stevens bought a house on the street behind us. We have been looking for community housing for years, and within the last month everything finally happened. The mansion dreams are lost, but God apparently has a better plan for all of us. We are all so close and have so much room to share. Between us and Chris we went from having 5 people in a 3 bedroom house to 5 people in two three bedroom homes. The Stevens place is big enough to share and to build accommodation in the back. It was crazy and fast how it all happened. We are just settling in to the new house. I love creating a space. It's a funky house, I'll post pics later.

On the Thursday before we moved I brought home a woman in a domestic violence situation... she moved with us and for a week we watched God miraculously get her out of the situation. It felt like a good precident to set for what this home will be used for. We are all excited.

Starting the week after Thanksgiving we’ll be doing another mosaic class with the people from the caravan park… We will have it at the Cave in Ascot Vale. There is a great connection between the Cave and a social services program (COS) over here. It’s too long of a story to tell how everything has come together. But trust me, it’s amazing. I’m helping the folks make small tables to sell that they will get to keep the money for. We are going to have an art exhibit at the Cave with art work from the clients at COS and the mosaics. It’s been amazing to watch how much art can affect someone’s life.

We are having curry night every Sunday before the church service at the Cave. It’s added so much to the community there. There are some really awesome people coming along from the public housing estate up the street.

I finally started painting again a bit on Thursdays at the Cave with Anthony (who runs it) and the people who come by.

I guess there is a whole lot going on, and I get overwhelmed trying to write it all (hats off to all professional writers).

Cricket is starting again soon, so goodbye to John for awhile!

I better stop here or this is going to become un read able :) I'll give you some pics

peace out!
