more on time

more on time I suppose.

Today I had a flash back while I was at my hair dressers.

While I was telling Mel (my hairdresser) to take a little more off around the ears I remembered sitting in the chair at my friend Erick's salon probably 15 years ago and telling him to make sure my ears and forehead didn't show, and to try to make my nose look smaller. For years this is how we cut my hair. Interesting if you could see my hair now... It's shorter and brighter than ever, and I'm heavier than I've ever been (even more than when I gave birth) and somehow I'm more comfortable in my skin than ever...

what happened between then and now?

I attribute all positive change to God. But I've been thinking more about the specifics of that. A lot has happened in the last 15 years... a lot! I couldn't begin to reiterate everything so here's a few key things I contribute the change to...

obedience to what I believe I was supposed to do... including, but not limited to; getting therapy, going on meds, letting go of some major things, fighting for some very important things, being faithful in the small things, seeing things through other people's eyes, finding my own identity, not caring so much about what other people think, not accepting things that simply aren't as they are supposed to be... sometimes you have to fight... most the time you have to fight... unless mediocrity is appealing to you..... it's not easy...
